Recently in America, the New Orleans Saints from the National Football League (NFL) became the latest franchise to enter into a joint marketing agreement with a state lottery involving a scratch off card game.
They follow announcements of similar deals with local lotteries from the New England Patriots, Washington Redskins and Houston Texans earlier this year.
As of September, the Saints will have a branded scratch card game on offer in partnership with the Louisiana Lottery, they will have a top cash prize of $100,000. Players will also be able to win second chance prizes such as tours of the NFL club’s suburban New Orleans training centre and special access for Saints home games in the Louisiana Superdome.
Rose Hudson the President of the Louisiana Lottery said, “Imagine touring the Saints practice facility, having lunch with the Saints’ head coach, enjoying the season in plaza sideline seats or getting VIP access to pre-game field activities or a clubroom in the Superdome.”
According to American law, at least 35 percent of the lottery’s ticket sales much go to public education and be transferred to the state’s Treasury Department.
