The two-time World Series of Poker champion Johnny Chan has confirmed that he will be returning to next month’s Asian Poker Tour (APT) Macau Festival after he enjoyed his first experience of the event last year.

The APT Macau Festival takes place from August 12th to the 23rd at the Galaxy StarWorld Hotel and Casino. The buy=in is set at $4,300. The festival is set to features the largest variety of side events that Asia has ever seen, there will be high-limit games and sit-and-go talbes running throughout the 12 days of the festival.
Chan announced that he will be taking part in this year’s main event as well as being involved in the filming of Poker King, which is an upcoming Chinese language film focussing on poker in Asia.

Born in China, Chan is now one of the biggest names in poker after he won the World Series of Poker championships in 1987 and 1988. In total he has won ten bracelets which puts him in the second spot all-time with the legendary Doyle Brunson. He has also won over eight million dollars from live tournaments.

The leading online and land-based gaming company, AsianLogic Limited announced that Chan will be joined at the APT Macau Festival by its own sponsored team of players known as “The Poker Pack”. The team is made up of the top players JC Tran, Nam Le, Quinn Do, David ‘Chino’ Rheem, Steve Sung, and Kwang Soo Lee. Collectively the team has over $24 million in live tournament winnings and serves as ambassadors for the APT.
